Container Date set for March 15, '08
Okay guys, the date is set . We will have the pre-pack day on Saturday, March 15, 10:00 - 12:00. The times mean that we will be there ready to unload at 10:00 and you need to be there in time to be unloaded by 12:00.
Reminders:
Any box that you wish to be held for your team should be clearly labeled with your team's color label. Boxes not securely taped and labeled will not go on the container. The exception to this is fabric and misc medical supplies and literature that we will use as fillers.
Any box that you wish to be for Sister Eleanor's use and discretion must still be labeled properly with a WHITE label. This would include things intended for Pastor David Kelly, Pastor David Ventura, etc., unless your team plans to deliver and distribute them.
After spending quite a bit of time in the warehouse last year locating boxes and still not finding some, I am going to suggest (not require) that we follow the lead of some teams and spray paint a spot on each side and the top of your boxes (same color of labels) to make them easier to spot when labels are not visible. Despite the very best efforts to keep things separated by color, it is just not entirely possible. PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT PLAN ON PAINTING YOUR BOXES ON THE ACTUAL SHIPMENT DAY - IT MAKES A HUGE MESS AND RUINS THE CLOTHES OF PEOPLE HAVING TO HANDLE THE BOXES. IF YOU ARE GOING TO PAINT THEM, THEY SHOULD BE PAINTED WELL IN ADVANCE OF SHIPMENT DAY.
What I need from you:
#1) I need to know if your team is planning to participate in this container.
#2) On March 15th, I need a check from you for $400 payable to AHMEN.
#3) On March 15th, I need a COMPLETE list of your boxes in manifest form. If anyone has questions about the manifest, please let me know and I will be more than happy to provide a sample. It is highly desired that ALL BOXES be brought to the warehouse by March 15th, however, I understand that that is not always possible. But, if the boxes are not physically there, they STILL MUST be on the manifest. The manifest that I FedEx to Sandy on Monday March 17th CANNOT be adjusted. Please work with me on this. We are trying very hard to make a difficult job as easy as possible for Sandy and the Cruzadas organization. Any variation puts them in a very precarious position and endangers future shipments.
Remember that everything we ship must have a final destination of one of the Cruzadas locations. Your manifest must reflect where your team will be working, so that that information can be presented in the dispensa Sandy has to provide to the government.
At this time, we are planning on a shipping date of April 5. By the time I see you on the 15th, we should know whether or not we will be shipping two containers and can establish times then.
God Bless everyone and thanks for all of your hard work - we have come a long way since my first container in 2002.
Vaya con Dios, Jane Cox
P.S. We are using Cruzado's Dispensa and must abide by the laws of Honduras. If anything is inappropriate in destination or use, Sandy has the authority and permission from AHMEN to give it to whomever she see fit. An example of this would be if I sent a operating table for use of the Ciriboya Clinic. This would not be appropriate for the Cruzado's Dispensa and Sandy will simply give it to a local hospital. If this doesn't make sence, let Jane or Tom Camp know and they will explain it to you.
