Guffey are looking for projector for their work this summer in Honduras. Please get it touch with them if you have any ideas.
Guf and I have ordered the new DVD Mary Magdalena, Release from Shame plus the original Jesus DVD both in Spanish. We would like to show them in Honduras. We have the laptop but not the video projector. Does AHMEN or any other team have one we can borrow to use with the Joe Jones, Bucket Guthrie, and Jane Cox teams? If not, is this something AHMEN could purchase for all teams to use?
Bendiciones,
Mary G. hjguffey@earthlink.net

Tom,
The type of projector we are talking about is a DLP or LCD projector that takes the video out feed from a computer and projects it onto a screen. These units are typically portable (newer models are generally 6-8 pounds) and are commonly used in education, churches and business. If you’ve ever attended a church service where the music, text or even video is projected on a screen behind the pulpit, then you’ve seen this type of projector. These machines have been in common usage for 8-10 years and like all electronics, have gone through several model changes. New machines today cost between $600- $800 on the low end to several thousand dollars for units with extremely high resolution and lots of “bells and whistles”. What we need for our trip with the Discovery, Bucket and Cox teams is a plain vanilla model that will simply project video. We want to use it to show a couple of award winning Bible videos as part of our evangelism efforts. We were hoping that someone may have an older model that they have replaced with a more current unit that could be borrowed for the five weeks that we will be in country.
