Good Morning Hondurophiles,
Yvonne Seaman and myself have been looking into a solution to the problem of "how to teach our various schools" some aspect of business. By now, we have had a fair number of students graduate from the woodworking/sewing schools in Honduras. Several of them have mentioned that they have no knowledge of "how to run a business". Prof. Hugh Guffey has put on one seminar last year for the teachers and students in the Limon area. Also, the students/teachers from Punta Pietra and Limon sewing schools have had at least one joint seminar they organized themselves.
Here is one idea. How about if we ask each team going to the Limon/Plan de Flores/Punta Pietra area to try and recruit some type of business person and ask them to then put on a "mini seminar" like Guf did. Over time, the students and teachers would gain a considerable amount of knowledge in business. Since I am not a business person, I don't know exactly what I am talking about. Perhaps by exchanging ideas, we could all come up with a general curriculum or at least something to aim at.
At any rate, please pass this on to your team mates and pray/explore/discuss and lets see where we go with it.
Vaya con Dios, Tom Camp If you would consider participating or have ideas contact: Yvonne Seaman: whyvonnee54@yahoo.com Tom Camp: llamacamp@hughes.net
