This is from Dr. Jerry Boshell. Jerry and Jean have been sponsoring a young lady in the girl's dorm, "La Haven", since that project was started. Take a look at this, pray about it, give it some thought. I know my expences have certainly gone up.
Tom, When I learned that the girls are running out of food by Thursday of each week, I felt that they needed more money to support them. I know that my kids cost more than $100.00 per month to support and girls are more expensive than boys. I've always thought that $100.00 per month was probably too low of an estimate even for basic necessities. Here in the US we allow for cost of living increases. I imagine that we should have considered that too when we agreed to sponsor these young ladies. Karla is a young lady now and my thinking should reflect that. I want to do it properly if I do it at all and I believe we should give at least $50.00 more per month to provide food, clothes and other basic necessities of life for these young ladies. We in the US easily could come up with that much money for what I consider to be a good way to show God's love toward others and to live out Matthew 25 in a real and practical way. I ask the others to do it for a few months and reevaluate and see if we should continue at the level of$150.00 per month. I know that sometimes we opt to throw more money at a situation to help but this time more money may be the right thing to do . Let's see. Vaya con Dios, Jerry
