Help needed.
JT Ray told me to get you the information on the more complex patients that we saw while in Roatan on our recent Mission Trip. First, let me say, that was the trip was an amazing life changing experience. I learned so much and enjoyed it immensely.
The patients needing extra assistance are as follows:
1.Maria Fernando Funez Quezaolo
Roatan--Punta Gorda

This young lady is 13 years old. She has Hydrocephalus. Her mother stated that she had a shunt until 3 years ago. She needs further surgery but the doctors on the Mainland said they were unable to help her further. She is having neck and shoulder pain and will have one side of her body "give way" as she walks. I am concerned that she is having symptoms of increased intercranial pressure or problems from a Chiari malformation. Likely she would need to come to the states to have further evaluation and surgery.
2. Blas Antonio
Oak Ridge Bight, Roatan

This boy is 22 months old and has Cerebral Palsy. His mother is very poor and unable to work as he needs constant care. She is really in need of a wheel chair for him.
3. Gizzelle (more information on last name to follow)
Oak Ridge Bight, Roatan

This child has Strabismus and would really need a more thorough eye exam and glasses, patching or surgery to correct the problem.
