This is the email I sent to everyone regarding my mother Jane. Please forward to all the prayer warriors you know. God is so GOOD and I know the power of prayer!!!!!!!!
Hey Everyone!
As many of you know, my mom has been sick for awhile now. I asked you all to pray for her as we headed to Honduras about a month ago. We all made the trip safely and God blessed our team in ways that I could not have even imagined. It was a wonderful trip and filled with many miracles along the way. Mom was able to sit back and relax and show others how to be the hands of God as she has so faithfully been the last several years.
Since we have returned, she still has not been feeling any better, so there have been several doctor trips in the past couple of weeks. Last week she had a CAT scan which showed a spot on her lungs. We went yesterday morning for a bronchioscope and they biopsied the spot and some others around there. We received the results today and it was not good news. She has small oat cell lung cancer and it is inoperable. Chemo and radiation are going to be our best option. At this point, she must go in and have a PET scan to make sure that it has not spread and then it will be on to an oncologist. If the cancer is contained we have a good chance of zapping it out of her system. I know God is in control of this situation and I am trying my best to not ask the question I am so desperately seeking the answer to...WHY??? I know there is a purpose for this and I must wait and let God lead the way.
For those of you who don't know my mother, she is an AMAZING lady. I can only hope to be half the woman she is one day. She has always set a christian example for me to follow and I am so proud to call her my mother as well as my best friend. I am asking that you all pray for her in her time of need. She is so strong in her faith and I know that she knows God is holding her hand every step of the way.
Also, I am asking that you keep Keith and me in your prayers. We must stay strong for her. She is the one that holds our family together and now it is time that we must be the source of strength for her. She needs us now more than ever.
Thanks for those of you that have kept us in your prayers the past few weeks. We can definitely feel them and God is giving me the strength I need. I apologize to those of you that have not known this is going on. My mind is so jumbled these days that I can't even remember who I have talked to. I will try and keep everyone updated through email as we go through this process. It is going to be a tough road but I know we can handle it with God on our side!
I feel like I am rambling so I am going to close with asking you to please begin by praying that the cancer is contained and has not spread. My mom has always told me that it is OK to ask God for specific things and this is what is so heavy on my heart right now.
I love you all,
Allison
