AHMEN docs and team leaders,
Drs. Alicia and Luis Ponce are ophthalmologists in La Ceiba who are partnering with AHMEN. They volunteer their services charging indigent patients very little . If necessary AHMEN team members pay the costs of transportation as well as the nominal charges for treatment/surgery.
IThey both speak excellent English and are very approachable.

The Ponces do ask that patients make an appointment before coming to the clinic. And if you are referring them, it would probably be a good idea for you to discuss the patients with the Ponces first.
