Merry Christmas to all our wonderful friends! Last night we stayed our first night at home since November 20th - and this morning we were able to go to church for the first time in a month, (even though we did leave early because Kenneth was beginning to be in quiet a bit of pain.) As usual everyone was so welcoming and we felt the love. Today is Dale's birthday and he said he could not have any other better present than to be in church with his family. I second that motion! Kenneth is able to be out of bed more now, and the main problem right now is that the nerve damage to his left leg is slowly trying to heal which caused him to have sharp pain from his hip to the bottom of his foot. The doctor expects it to take a year for the nerve to rebuild itself.
There isn't any way I can let you all know how much you have meant to me since the accident happened, and since Dale was diagnosed with cancer. I have definitely felt your prayers - that is where my strength has come from on many days. When I'm ornery, tired and stressed; - I've made you work double hard in intercession for me. - but; God has heard your prayers and I come back to my senses. I went by Wal-Mart in Lakeshore at 6am yesterday, bought a live Christmas tree - (did you know they mark the Christmas trees half-price five days before Christmas? - well, they do!) I put the tree in the trunk on my car with the five Christmas present (for our five grandkids) and this morning while everyone was sleeping I decorated the tree. Some of the ornaments on the tree were gifts for some of you. I thanked God for you. Celebrating Christmas doesn't take a lot of money, time or effort. It's sitting in God's presence and thanking Him for allowing His Son to come to earth - just so we could know the extent of God's Love. Just as our hearts were thankful on Thanksgiving Day - we rejoice on Christmas because we fully know priorities can change in a split-second. There may come a time when you have to fight for life and embrace it - one thing is for sure; - "life is worth the living, just because HE lives."
Have a wonderful and Merry Christmas!
