Confusion re. Containers: Who, What, Why, How for the 2010 year?
Medical supplies for free? From DRI and ALCON
The scheduling of the winter container for February, along with the release of surplus donated supplies by DRI and Alcon, has caused some confusion. The February, or “winter,” container is intended to be loaded with materials that are currently in the Arley warehouse. Since we must vacate the Arley warehouse by the end of February, it will be more convenient (and probably cheaper in the long run) to go ahead and ship these backlogged items rather than move them to the new warehouse (whenever one is found). Team leaders must understand that we are not looking for any new items to be brought to the warehouse at this time.
What about our container for our normal team materials we will need for the work of our teams in the coming year??
We will be sending a regular container in the spring, tentative date set for early to mid March for this.
Specific dates and information to follow as the Green’s get the dates from Dole for that.
So: do we still need folks at the warehouse work day? Absolutely !!!!! Contact Ivan Green if you are willing to help with the cleaning out and organizing so we can utilize as much of the materials as possible and leave the Arley Warehouse as clean as possible as a way of thanking Ellis.
Some contacts you might need:
To talk about containers and help with this:
Ivan Green: greenei@bellsouth.net
To talk about some of the medical supplies and grants supplies you might want for your team for free:
Bruce McFadden: BCMCF@BHAM.RR.COM
