I called Sister Eleanor last week to tell her we would not be sending down a Christmas Container. The teams didn't have the extra money, we had very little in the warehouse, and there just wasn't that much interest. Sister Eleanor: Are you sure? Me: yep S.E. there will be kids with no Christmas, at all. M: how many? S.E. Literally 1000's! M: you ment to say 100's? S.E.: no, I ment to say 1000's There will be literally thousands of kids with no Christmas without the Christmas Container. M; Huh. S.E. Let me tell you something else. There have been 2 women and 5 kids at my gate in the past 3 days asking for food. they have no, repeat no, food at home and have not eaten for 3 days. I had nothing to give them to eat, not even beans and rice. S. E. Things are really tough in Honduras this year. Please ask your members to reconsider. So, here I am asking you to re consider. Please pass this to your team mates, your pastors, your friends, your Sunday School Class, your work place, and anywhere else you can think of. You would pass on a good joke, well pass this on. For more ideas, take a look at www.honduranmissions.com on Christmas container (the first article at the top), shoe boxes, and new shoes. Let's make this easy for folks to give just a little. Please consider this prayerfully Vaya con Dios, Tom Camp

Hi Dr. Camp,
I don't know alot about how this all works, but I have to tell you something that has happened in my home this week due to your email regarding the Christmas Container. We were on Bucket's team this year and it was our first trip to Honduras. We went to Utila, the Dump, and the girls dorm and Sandy, Sean and Sister Eleanor. What an awesome and life changing experience. We fell in love the people in Honduras. The night before we got your email, my daughter Kayla was thinking on something to do for the Honduras area. I wasn't aware of this until the next morning when I gave her your email. She got very excited and told me she was justing thinking of something to do. That day she contacted many friends from Walker County to Moulton and other area churches, youth leaders and class mates. We just got back from church camp and she has contacted many friends from there that goes to different churches. She has a small network of workers ready to put together some shoe box and gather food and any other donations they can. She is prepared to talk with her principle and teachers at her high school and elementary school to try and get their support and participation. She is in Beta Club and has friends in other clubs that she wants to talk with as well. Like I said, I don't know alot about the expenses or how all this works, but I have a little girl who has a network of young christian workers that are ready to move some mountains with Gods power working in and through them.
Please let me know what we need to do. Thank you very much and God Bless You!!

That hurts. I challenge anyone to match five hundred dollars. That would be about what I get on presents in a year. That would follow"it is better to give than receive". Tom you can forward this to your address group if you like. Best regards. Jerry Boshell

Dr. Tom and Guf - Our little Kayla is on the ball - she has taken on the Christmas container in a big way. I worked with her yesterday on her project and she is spreading the word like wildfire among her clubs at school, friends from camp, and it is catching on. Just wanted you to know that "It's a God Thing" is on board with you on this project. Brenda

Brothers and Sisters,
Don’t forget your home mission work, but Acts 1:8 does not say be witnesses Unto me in Jerusalem or Judea or Samaria or utter most parts of the earth. It says “ But you shall receive power after that the Holly Spirit us come upon you and you Shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and Unto the utter most part of the earth.” Sister Eleanor (very, very, very Godly Saint of Cruzadu) has asked Dr. Camp (our general Coordinator) to reconsider sending a Christmas Container to Honduras This Fall. Ref: Email from Tom Camp on 7-17-2010 7:47A.M. I don’t think we Can get enough of stuff to put on the container. I have a good bit of extra stuff Around the house, I also have a little extra money I can do without, I know a few Folks that may have some extra stuff they can send. I just don’t think we can fill It up this way. Maybe if we understand we can’t do this and turn to the Lord and And say Lord we need your help to fill this container. We have a loving desire To fill this container and we can’t do it without you. I wonder what His answer Will be? I know his answer. Let’s call on Him and fill this container. Lets give. Do we know what true giving is? When you give something that you don’t think You can afford to give away. When you give something that will hurt when you Give it away. When you give your new tennis shoes that you just got for your Birthday. When you give your brand new skill saw you have never used and its been Sitting in the basement for 2 years, but I may need it down the road. You ain’t needed It for 2 years (duh). Is God trying to tell you something? He gave his best. Try Giving your best or your all. When you do , ask yourself this question, Did I loose By giving so much? Let’s fill this container up with Gods stuff. Lets let him use us So that we will shine for him. Lets glorify God. Would you pass on a good joke? This ain’t no joke, its for Gods Glory. Pass This on.
Bucket & It’s A God Thing Team
P.S. You and I can do nothing for Him without Him.

What Kayla is doing:Hi Dr. Camp, Just wanted to let you know what we are working on. I have put together around 70 or more packets to mail out to local churches today. The packets contain a letter I wrote to the church, a picture of one or more of the following(girls at the dorm, children at the dump, children at Campernauda), the e-mail about all the different ways we can help, the e-mail about the instructions for the shoeboxes, and a letter about the 3 girls at the dorm still needing a sponsor. Here is the letter I wrote to the different churches and the letter about the 3 girls needing sponsors at the girls dorm. We are also trying to coordinate a Food Drive/Benefit Singing with some local Christian groups to gather nonperishable food items. They would bring the food items to the singing and leave at the door when entering. Thanks, Kayla Cooper

Kid’s Christmas In Honduras 2010 I am writing this letter to ask you all for your help. God has given me the opportunity to go serve in Honduras and now that I am back home he has given me a passion and a vision. This vision is to gather people from churches all over to come together and help the Honduran children this Christmas, and I am asking you to be a part and help provide Christmas shoeboxes and food for the children in Honduras. I have met Sister Eleanor, who is coordinating the project in Honduras. Also, I have visited some of the places these Christmas shoeboxes and food will be distributed. Through working at the medical and eye glass clinics I have met and held some of these children that are in need. I have personally seen the needs and that makes me even more passionate about this project. I know that it is early to think about Christmas, but the containers will be sent out of Curry, Alabama in October. That gives us less than 3 months to see this vision through. There are different ways we can help but the Christmas Shoebox Program and food drive are the projects I am trying to get churches and youth groups to help with. It is a GREAT way to help the needy Honduran children have a good Christmas. I have attached some details of what kind of things can go in your shoeboxes. Also, I have enclosed some pictures of where your shoeboxes and food will go. Please consider helping to make it a special Christmas for the Honduran children. I believe that we can do anything with God. All we have to do is step out on faith and God will use us. More than likely the person reading this letter has all the information needed and a way to contact me for any questions or concerns. Please let me know the name and number to contact the person who will be collecting everything as soon as possible. This person will be the one who collects all the boxes and food by October 3rd and I will pick them up. Please pray about this project and if you are led to help please let me know. I appreciate all the help!! Thank you so much, Kayla

From "It's a God Thing"Brothers and Sisters,
Don’t forget your home mission work, but Acts 1:8 does not say be witnesses unto me in Jerusalem or Judea or Samaria or utter most parts of the earth. It says “But you shall receive power, and after that the Holy Spirit will come upon you and you shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the utter most part of the earth.” Sister Eleanor (a very, very, very Godly Saint of the Cruzada de Evangelica organization in Honduras) has asked Dr. Camp (our general Coordinator of AHMEN) to reconsider sending a Christmas Container to Honduras this Fall. (Ref: Email from Tom Camp on 7-17-2010 7:47A.M). I don’t think we can get enough of stuff to put on the container. I have a good bit of extra stuff around the house, I also have a little extra money I can do without, I know a few folks that may have some extra stuff they can send. I just don’t think we can fill it up this way. Maybe if we understand we can’t do this and turn to the Lord and and say, “Lord we need your help to fill this container. We have a loving desire to fill this container and we can’t do it without you.” I wonder what His answer would be then?
I’m pretty sure I know His answer…. Let’s call on Him and fill this container! Lets give. What do you say?
But, do we know what true giving is? True giving is when you give something that you don’t think you can afford to give away. Or, when you give something that really hurts, deep down inside, when you do give it away. Maybe like, as a child when you give your brand-new tennis shoes that you just got for your birthday. Not like, as an adult when you give your ‘brand new skill saw’ (It’s only brand new “cause you have never used and it’s been sitting in the basement for 2 years, but ‘I may need it down the road’). You haven’t needed it for 2 years (duh). Is God trying to tell you something? He gave His best. Try giving your best, or your all. And, when you do, ask yourself this question, did I loose by giving so much? Now, let’s fill this container up with Gods stuff! Let’s let Him use us so that we will shine for Him. Let’s glorify God. God will bless you for doing this. But, don’t do it this to “get” God’s blessing. Do this to “be” a blessing to others. Would you pass on a good joke? This is not a joke. It’s for Gods Glory. Please, pass this on.
From: Bucket & “ It’s A God Thing Team”
P.S. You and I can do nothing for Him, without Him.

three updates: Greg Rushton from the Belaire team is working on an eye trailer that will permanently house the eye glasses, etc for easy transport. It will live "in the bodega? or mission compound when not in use by one of the teams. - he plans to have this ready before the container leaves this fall.
Ray Crump is working on 5 pallets of food - WOW for the Christmas distribution by Sister Eleanor
Dale Caporn is working with 5 churches to add mosquito netting to their shoe box ministry.

Attached is a two page hand out concerning the Christmas Shoe Boxes in Spanish. Please send this to every Hispanic congregation in your district and see if they would like to participate this year. Remember we furnish the shoe boxes and cases for the shoe boxes. If you have any questions, please give me a call. The English document is also attached. God bless, Ray Crump
