Subject: WHO guide for treatment of Malaria
We received this last year from Brad and "Guf" Guff. I am rereading it so I thought I would send it along again. Virtually all the malaria in Honduras is Plasmodium Vivax, although there has been some P.Falciparum noted in eastern Honduras. I can find no reports of Chloroquine resistance of P. Falciparum in Honduras. The sections on P. Vivax are relavent and thankfully shorter.
On previous trip we have had Chloroquine to treat the acute febrile manifestations of malaria. Since Primaquine is unavailable through normal channel is the U.S. we have not had the option of a complete cure.
