Dear Fellow Hondophiles,
I am attaching a booklet containing referral options for special medical services (cancer, HIV, dentistry, ophthalmology, etc.) in Honduras. Please send me a list of the specialists, clinics, hospitals, treatment facilities, etc. that you know about or can find out about through your contacts in Honduras and I will type them in and resend this with the additions.
Some of the medical teams, specifically some of the physicians, that come to Honduras have no idea what specialty treatment services are available. Consequently they may be reluctant to diagnose certain problems like cancer for instance.
I’m sure the booklet does not contain anywhere near all the options available. If you know of others or can find out about what else is available in the areas served by AMEN, CHHF, and CHIMES, please send them to me as soon as possible and I will add them to the list. Our team goes to Belaire next week, so if you know something please let me know.
Also if you know the dates and locations that other physicians, surgeons, specialists, dentists, optometrists, ophthalmologists, etc., will be serving in 2011, through teams or special brigades like SEE International or Doctors Without Borders, please send me that info as well.
As you already know, the more we can coordinate or followup with health care the better we will serve the people we've come to love.
Thanks and God Bless,
Mary
